Ski Wagrain

Wagrain is located in the Ski Amade ski area, the largest in Austria with 860km of ski pistes.

The Ski Amade region is split into 5 ski regions, all of which are covered on the standard lift pass.
Wagrain is in the centre of the Salzburger Sportwelt ski region, comprising 350km of pistes linking the villages of Wagrain, Flachau, Kleinarl, Sankt Johann/Alpendorf, Radstadt, Zauchensee, Eben and Filzmoos.

From Wagrain there are 3 separate gondola lifts from which to start your ski day .........

Grafenberg Gondolas 1 and 2            LIVE WEBCAM

The single-stage 6-person gondola takes you directly from Wagrain village up to the top station at 1750m. From here it is possible to link across 3 valleys to the resort of Alpendorf using only the latest high-speed chair lifts – several of which feature heated seats. The Grafenberg also offers the opportunity to learn to ski at high altitude using the nursery and kindergarden slopes situated at the summit – increasing the excitement of learning to ski, and ensuring snow sure conditions all season long. Beginners can then return safely to the village via the gondola.

Winter 2009/10 saw the opening of Grafenberg 2, a new gondola from base to mid-station, designed to join up with the new panoramic Peak 2 Peak cable car linking the mid-stations of the Grafenberg and Flying Mozart which is to be built in summer 2011.

Flying Mozart Gondola                      LIVE WEBCAM

Starting from the Kichboden plateau above Wagrain village, the Flying Mozart is a 10-person two-stage gondola taking skiers up to the top station at 1850m. The summit links two ski areas – Wagrain to the North, and Flachau to the South. There are nursery slopes for beginners at the base of the Flying Mozart gondola.

Rote 8 Gondola

Starting from 2 km further up the valley towards Flachau, the Rote 8 is a two-stage 8-person gondola which also links into the Flachau/Wagrain ski area. Nursery slopes are situated on a sunny plateau at the middle station, allowing beginners to return via the gondola if required.

Kleinarl                                           LIVE WEBCAM

The two stage Champion/Bubble Shuttle chairlift gives access to the Flachauwinkel slopes which then link to the Altenmarkt-Zauchensee ski area.

EQUIPMENT HIRE + SKI SCHOOL

Wagrain offers many choices of ski hire and ski school. Though they are all excellent, the best recommendation for our location is the Ski Stadl, located just down the road from Haus Annabelle directly opposite the Grafenberg gondola station. The Ski Stadl is the home of the Rot Weiss Rot Ski School, offering English speaking instruction for all levels of skier. Just mention Haus Annabelle and they will look after you well.
