Salzburgerland offers the summer Visitor a huge variety of activities to get you out into the beautiful Lakes and Mountains.

Walking and Hiking

There are walks and hikes to suit all ages and fitness levels. In addition to the gentle valley walks, there are a multitude of marked paths up and through the high peaks with the option to walk the whole way up from the valley, or take the cable car to the top to make the trip easier.

Tip – Take the Flying Mozart gondola up the Griesenkareck (1850m) then follow the path to the summit (2000m) and along the high ridge to Kleinarl. Approx. 4 hours round trip.

For a more gentle option, the circuit walk around Jaegersee lake takes just 40 minutes but offers spectacular views and the option to take the additional 4 hour hike up to Tappenkarsee lake at 1800m.

Cycling and Mountain Biking

The area around Wagrain offers hundreds of kilometres of dedicated cycling and mountain bike tracks, so you can avoid the traffic and enjoy the beauty of the natural landscape.

Tip – The Enns cycle path follows the gently sloping river valley for over 200km. The first section from Flachau to Schladming is a 60km round trip and takes approx 5 hours.

Tip – The purpose built Mountainbike Park Wagrain uses the lower section of the Flying Mozart gondola to take bikers up to the mid station at 1350m, then it’s all downhill from there.

Swimming

Despite being 3 hours from the nearest beach, the local swimming lakes and the Wagrain Waterworld provide the possibility for swimming without getting sand in your sandwiches.

The local swimming lake at Reitdorf also offers free swimming in a spectacular setting.

Golf

Golf in Austria offers a unique experience, with championship quality courses in spectacular mountain settings. The course at Radstadt also offers the only on-course cable car in Europe between the 13^th and 14^th holes.

Wagrain Card

Visitirs wishing to take advantage of many of the local activities around Wagrain can purchase a Wagrain Card which gives free access to many of the local attractions including entry to Wagrain Waterworld, and use of the Summer cable car lifts.
